Garlic for health and beauty
“Who has garlic, is not afraid of poison”
It was talked about in antiquity and is still being spoken on languages for 5,000 years. Where does its popularity come from?
Why is it talked about like great figures from history?
Certainly not due to his personal charm, because neither handsome from him nor smells encouraging. It consists only of the head divided into cloves and green long leaves. So maybe the color ?? From gray-white to purple?
Probably, however, something else in it delights, since they do not stop mentioning it and use it both housewives in the kitchen as well as entrepreneurs in pharmaceutical concerns.
“… garlic works best for body and soul pains …”
Everyone knows that garlic is healthy and you should eat it. Unfortunately, however, most of us repel the smell that remains after it. The alliin that activates at the time of cutting is responsible for this characteristic smell of garlic. Alliine is converted into allicin, which has an antibiotic effect.
Another substance associated with garlic is ajoen counted as anti-cancer. It’s an oil that has a powerful action similar to aspirin. It prevents the red blood cells from sticking together. In addition, it lowers the level of LDL cholesterol in the blood and acts against blood clotting. It reduces the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in the arteries and protects the heart and blood vessels from free radicals. Garlic has a hypotensive effect, i.e. lowers blood pressure, preventing the development of hypertension. It favors a better blood supply to coronary vessels. However, people with hypotension should remember not to consume it in too large amounts, because it may result in deterioration of health.
Give the garlic or antibiotic from the pharmacy to the patient?
Garlic acts as a mild antibiotic, has antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and anti-ticking properties. It acts as an antioxidant, as it contains vitamins A, B1, B2, PP and C, zinc, potassium, calcium, magnesium, cobalt, nickel, chromium, manganese and selenium. It contains sulfur compounds that stimulate the activity of white blood cells, which strengthens the immune system. Sulfur also improves the condition of the skin, hair and nails. Garlic is one of the few products containing germanium, which increases immunity by stimulating the immune system. Everyone knows that the best for colds is garlic consumption in any form, and preferably in combination with honey and lemon, or milk. This is because it acts antibacterially, relieves cough, soothes the respiratory tract, reduces fever and acts diaphoreticly and diuretic. In mild disease states it is much more advisable to give garlic than a strong synthetic antibiotic from the pharmacy, because the body tolerates substances of natural origin much better. Emphasizing the fact that for a cold antibiotic from the pharmacy will not help, it is worth fighting a runny nose, cough, or a sore throat just garlic.
It lowers blood pressure, so does it also lower blood glucose?
Yes, the antidiabetic effect of garlic is possible thanks to the aforementioned alliin, which lowers the level of glucose in the blood. It has beneficial effects on liver metabolism and regulates insulin secretion. In garlic there is a high fiber content – 4.1 g 100g and about 150 kcal in 100g product. However, it would be difficult to gain weight with it.
Garlic is helpful in treating heartburn because it stimulates the secretion of gastric juice. Bile-active antispasmodic.
Antispasmodic action is also applicable in menstrual pain. It relieves tension and annoying cramps.
Thinking about popular aphrodisiacs such as strawberries, pomegranate, chocolate, chilli peppers, oysters, ginger and nuts, hardly anyone would add garlic to this tasty pot. And yet! For centuries women have been eating garlic to improve their fertility and desire. Men drank potions with garlic to increase their potency. Garlic improves blood circulation, strengthens blood circulation to the sexual organs. However, from a more practical point of view, it is worth knowing that for garlic to work like an aphrodisiac it should not be eaten separately, because in this way the partner can unfortunately be completely discouraged. This is how it is that to get rid of a strong garlic scent will not help 100% even brushing your teeth.
However, there is a paradox. Those who eat garlic smell nicer! Why? Because the antioxidants contained in it improve the body’s metabolism and toxins are easier to remove.
Remembering old stories …
It was formerly believed that garlic was supposed to drive away evil spirits, drive away witches, and protect children from being charmed. Garments were worn with garlic on the neck, which was supposed to protect against the enemy, unhappiness and also against infectious diseases. Roman soldiers drank a drink made of garlic, vinegar, oil, which strengthened their vital forces, added energy and enthusiasm to the fight. Generally speaking, garlic was very popular among our ancestors, and along with the progress of science and new research, its beneficial effects are confirmed. It is true that science does not confirm the influence of garlic on witches, but it proves that he has done and still does the best for physical health.
Who is able to resist his consumption, which will help health and beauty? Probably just the one with a sensitive nose. But there are also ways! Adding parsley, celery or carrot to garlic dishes suppresses the garlic aroma. Chewing parsley, mint leaves, cloves and fresh ginger after ingesting garlic will help to effectively reduce unpleasant odors from the mouth.
So, if there are no bigger contraindications to eating garlic, is it worth giving up completely? Give up health? Beauty? Good mood?
