When it comes to burning fat, simplicity is often overlooked for unnecessarily complicated systems and slimming plans. People unnecessarily try to count calories, mix and combine several different ingredients to activate and burn fat, eliminate all foods high in calories or drink nothing for a week except juice. And they usually end up where they started – with unwanted fatty tissue!
Well, I’m here to tell you that there is an easier way, simpler and more fun.
It’s called “Steak & Eggs”
The “Steak & Eggs” diet has been developed by the famous bodybuilding coach Vince Gironde as a way to burn off all excess body fat. Used by the top bodybuilders from the seventies during the reduction phase, and even by film stars from those times.
This is the simplest diet that exists and at the most effective.

You only eat three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. For the first meal you eat from 250 grams to 0.5 kilograms of beef steak and 4 to 6 eggs. At the second meal you eat exactly the same, the same for the third. (Old School bodybuilders from the “Golden Era” were able to eat up to 2 kg of meat per day). You fry steaks and eggs in a pan with a hint of butter or coconut oil (you can fry without the addition of butter or oil in a Teflon pan). You can add a little salt or pepper. Prepare eggs as you like: in the form of scrambled eggs, fried eggs, soft or hard boiled eggs. No carbs, no vegetables, no other food, no snacks, no drinks except water.
On every seventh day you can use the so-called “cheated day” and you can eat whatever you like. Although everything is permitted, the best and most reasonable choice is to eat full-bodied, mostly basic meals, or plenty of fruits and vegetables.)
This is six days on the steaks and eggs and one day of great gluttony. Repeat until you are slim. (Personally, I would recommend going on a diet of “Steak and Eggs” all the time. If you still want to use one day of indulging, let it be Sunday so that every Monday starts with a proper fat burning attitude.)
Is not it difficult to eat only steaks and eggs?
It is only difficult mentally. From the physical side you feel great on this diet.
Will I not be hungry all the time eating only steaks and eggs twice a day?
In the beginning maybe so. But once you start using this diet you will not even notice that you are hungry. Fats and proteins are very filling. This is the case only when we eat carbohydrates, our bodies signal us to eat more and more. Each of us knows this funny state when we get hungry 30 minutes after eating Chinese. Because it’s just rice and other carbohydrates. Fats and proteins provide energy for a long period of time. Someone can sit comfortably and eat snacks all day containing mainly carbohydrates, such as potato chips and biscuits. In turn, with steak and eggs you will not be able to eat all day round because you will be saturated after the first meal.
But won’t the steaks and fried eggs in butter not then be rich in fat and unhealthy?
Rich in fat, yes. Unhealthy, no. What you do not hear in the evening news is that saturated fatty acids are important for health, vitality and testosterone. Look around and see how people obsessively avoid fats as if they were the incarnation of evil. Fats are important for maintaining lean figure. You need to consume fats because they provide constant energy throughout the day. When you do not eat fats, you just go on eating (in humans it’s called snacking, in animals grazing). All the animals that graze are fat, all the people who eat are fat.
How does the “Steak and Eggs” diet contribute to burning fat?
Steak and eggs diet is a ketogenic diet. It means that it is rich in fats and protein, without carbohydrates. When carbohydrates are eliminated as a source of energy, your body burns fat tissue to supply fuel. In order for a ketogenic diet to work you must eat fats and get rid of carbohydrates.
How does the “Steak and Eggs” diet give you balanced energy?
On this diet you do not consume any carbohydrates. When you eat carbohydrates, your insulin level suddenly increases which manifests itself as a burst of energy and fatigue. We all know the feeling when we eat lunch we do not think about anything else except going to sleep. This is because we eat a lot of carbohydrates during the standard lunch. When you eliminate carbohydrates, you will also get rid of the sudden rise in insulin levels, resulting in constant levels of energy throughout the day.
Will the “Steak and Eggs” diet naturally turn up testosterone levels?
Simple. Fat and cholesterol are the testosterone building blocks and must be consumed to naturally increase the levels of this hormone.
Can I eat other meat except steaks?
If you need to replace steaks with other meat, there is no problem. I know that not everyone can afford to eat a kilo of beef every day, so I personally recommend chicken meat, turkey or an underrated liver. I do the same with the best results. Nevertheless, try to keep a diet based on beef or other types of meat.
If I do not eat vegetables, will I not have vitamins and minerals deficiency then?
Let’s find out. Some 85 grams of beef provides us with the same amount of iron as 350 grams of spinach. 515 grams of beef satisfies our 40% zinc and selenium requirement (one of the most important elements in a man’s body). 0.5 kg of beef satisfies our 50% B12 vitamin requirement and 25% vitamin B6. Beef is one of the healthiest meals you can eat. Eggs contain a lot of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium.
How long should I be on this diet?
As long as you want, or as long as you need.
Who is this intended diet for?
For anyone who wants to naturally get rid of unnecessary fat. For anyone who wants to have constant levels of energy and for anyone who wants to naturally increase their testosterone levels and quality of muscle.
Rules to remember:
Stop worrying about eating fats! If this diet is to work, you MUST eat them. If you eat zero carbohydrates and a small amount of fats, you can lead to poisoning your body with protein. Protein itself is toxic and must therefore be supplied with carbohydrates or fats in the diet.
Try to drink 3 to 4 litres of water a day. Drink at least 30 minutes before meals and at least 30 minutes after meals. (Not to thin the gastric juices that begin to digest food).
Never take any snacks. It never ends on one as you try it you will want more and more until you eat the whole pack of candy bars.
Remember six days on the steaks and eggs, one day of cheated meals with high carbohydrate content. After this wonderful gluttony, you will look just fantastic in the mirror. This is because during your ketogenic diet your muscles may look flat and may be slimmer. And after a full day of carbohydrates (preferably if it was a full-bodied, well-balanced carbohydrate-rich meal, such as meringue, dried fruits such as dates, figs and dark apricots, and honey). Your muscles will fill with water and they will look spectacular.
