OXY diet is a new protein diet, the rules of which are similar to Dukan diet. However, OXY diet has been improved by specialists, thanks to which – according to its creators – it has no negative influence on the organism, in comparison to the protein diet devised by the defamed dietician. What does OXY diet consists in? How much weight can we lose on OXY diet? And most importantly – is OXY diet safe for our health?
OXY diet is a three-phase system of weight loss, thanks to which, as the authors persuade, we may safely lose extra kilograms (even 15!) in 3 weeks. As we find, OXY diet “is based on classic protein diet, but has been improved by experts”. Thanks to this, it does not harm kidneys and liver [which Dukan diet is blamed for – editorial note] and its application improves general condition of the organism and well-being.
What does OXY diet consists in?
OXY diet is composed of three diversified phases, out of which each lasts for seven days. For the whole period of the diet, the basis of the menu is antioxidant-rich OXY Shake, which is composed of cranberry fruits, kefir and wheat bran. According to the authors of the diet, OXY Shake, when drunk regularly, may detoxicate the organism, clean urinary ducts and consequently – neutralize side-effects of a protein diet, such as: fatigue, heaviness, decreased condition, constipations, problems with kidneys and liver.
Does cranberry make you lose weight?
It is worth knowing that cranberry stimulates metabolism and consequently – supports weight loss. All of this is possible thanks to the fact that it contains substances, which take part in the process of detoxification of the organism. During following this diet, it is best reaching for raw cranberry fruits, which contain only 46 kcal in 100 g.
OXY diet: phase one – FAT BURNING
The aim of the first phase of OXY diet is fast burning of adipose tissue. Therefore, the menu of a user is composed mainly of animal protein, which when applied in proper amounts intensively accelerates fat burning and at the same time does not cause side-effect, characteristic to protein overdose, e.g. metabolic disorders, atherosclerotic lesions and it does not burden the work of such important organs as liver and kidneys.
OXY diet: phase two – STEP
The aim of the second phase of OXY diet is strengthening the achieved effects. During the second week, our menu is enriched in plant protein. According to the diet’s authors, proper proportion of plant protein and animal protein should be 50:50.
OXY diet – phase three – BALANCE
It is the phase of stabilization of the whole weight loss process, which aims at protecting a person on a diet from the yo-yo effect. As the creators of the diet claim, at this stage of weight loss, the content of carbohydrates, proteins and fats is appropriate according to the norms recommended by the Food and Nutrition Institute. The content of protein constitutes 15-20% of general energy value of the diet and its amount ranges from 65-70 g – which is the norm of daily consumption of protein for an average adult.
Is OXY diet healthy?
The first phase of OXY diet is very similar to the Dukan diet, condemned not only by dieticians, but also by physicians, as it is based only on animal protein. The second phase of OXY diet adds plant protein. In reference to the fact that the period of eating only proteins was limited only to 2 weeks, the risk that they will cause undesirable effects is inappreciable. Apart from this, the third phase of the diet is not – as the authors convince us – a protein diet, but a healthy, balanced diet, since it provides proper amounts of all nutrients, which are essential to cover our nutritional needs.
What are disadvantages of OXY diet? Dieticians agree that quick weight loss at the beginning of a diet is not a result of burning fat, but glycogen – sugar, stored in the liver and skeletal muscles. Only after 2 weeks of dieting, the organism slowly starts burning fat. Therefore, each quick diet, and OXY diet is such a diet, may be risky and may lead to the yo-yo effect.
