- Fasting
We come up with the idea that we will do a few days’ of fasting and the pants will fit again. For the coming days your best friend is a bottle of water. What are the consequences of such a procedure?
Resting the diet only on water leads to rapid weight loss, but it’s not only due to loss of body fat, but also to muscle mass. Fasting can lead to disturbances in water and electrolyte balance as well as impaired function of the kidneys or liver.
Headaches and dizziness, weakness and constipation are frequent complaints caused by fasting, which also causes health-related deficiencies of vitamins and minerals, such as sodium, potassium or magnesium.
- Giving up some meals
If a hunger strike is such a bad idea, can you at least give up a few meals a day? Such thinking is also wrong. The daily diet should consist of at least 4 meals. The intervals between them should be between 2.5 and a maximum of 4 hours. You should not eat between meals or take too long breaks.
This promotes the growth of metabolic rate and allows you to manage your calories. The body then has no energy saving mode enabled, does not store body fat, and at the same time effectively consumes supplies.
More frequent, but smaller meals facilitate digestion, help maintain normal blood sugar levels, thanks to which insulin secretion is limited. In addition, constant blood sugar limits the feeling of hunger.
- Breakfast exclusion
Excluding breakfast will certainly give you the expected results, and in the morning you are rarely hungry. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It provides the body with energy after a nights break. Its absence causes the body to remain in the nocturnal sleep phase of metabolism.
It’s best to eat the first meal up to 2 hours after waking up, because then it properly fulfills the assumed functions. As soon as you wake up, drink a glass of mineral water. It cleanses the body of toxins and stimulates metabolism. Regular consumption of breakfast reduces the tendency to weight gain. Skipping breakfast will only sharpen the appetite and will cause more meals to be eaten.
Do not overdo it and believe that the calories you eat in the morning do not fatten. The energy demand should be properly distributed for meals throughout the day, and breakfast should account for about 25% of energy. it’s important to provide composite carbohydrates from whole bread or wholemeal bread with this meal, it should also contain a protein and fat additive.
We also mention the last meal, which you should eat it 2-3 hours before bedtime. It has to be easy to digest and small. During this time, the meal is digested and there is no risk that nighttime slowing down of metabolism will result in fat deposition.
Remember that lasting effects can only be achieved by a balanced, rational diet. Attempts to quickly lose weight can bring a short-term result, ending with a yo-yo effect.
