Vitamin H, most commonly known as biotin, is a very popular dietary supplement, which is valued by many women, but not only. It’s soluble in water and occurs in the form of capsules or tablets. And although not much is said about it, and most of us do not know what its properties are, it’s undoubtedly very valuable and it’s worth acquiring knowledge about it.

Vitamin H – where can we find it?

Vitamin H is not produced by the human body, which is why it’s so important that we provide it through a proper diet, and if necessary, through appropriate supplements with it in the main role. Where are the largest amounts of it? In bananas, in eggs, in bran, as well as in oat flakes, in milk, sunflower seeds, in legume seeds, as well as mushrooms and flour.

Vitamin H deficiency in the body

What is the deficiency of this vitamin in the body? What are the deficiencies for? Certainly we feel more tired and weary, which is associated primarily with improper work of the nervous system. There is often a smaller appetite for food that leads to weight loss. There are often various types of skin lesions, including erythema. It affects the quality of hair and nails, so its deficiency can lead to their weakening. When it comes to athletic people, a deficiency of vitamin H leads to muscle aches, as well as nausea and vomiting during activity. If the level is low for a long time, a common symptom is conjunctivitis, anaemia, as well as an increase in bad cholesterol affecting the onset of cardiovascular disease.

Although this vitamin is not very well known, it actually plays an extremely valuable role for our body. It’s worth remembering and arranging the diet so that there are products that supply it to the body.
