It turns out that sleep deprivation can significantly affect the reduction of body weight, even if we live actively and use diet.
If we want to lose weight, then in addition to the correct, balanced diet and activity on a daily basis, we should primarily focus on sleep hygiene. What does this mean? Sleeping! An adult should sleep about eight hours per night to fully recover and enjoy the healthy refreshment every day. So what makes us have trouble sleeping despite chronic fatigue?
- Hormones
They usually correspond in most cases to the quality of our sleep and sleeping problems. The biggest problem is the hormone – ghrelin, which stimulates the appetite, and also has the task of reducing the level of leptin informing of satiety.
- Sleep deprivation = bad actions
If we do not sleep, we do not have the strength and energy, we are tired, weakened and we lack the will to do anything. Instead of actively spending the day, we lie, instead of making a healthy meal, we focus on unhealthy, processed food, and all of this reflects on our weight.
- Stress
Stress is usually the main culprit of all our problems. We are not sleeping because we are stressed by something, we end up tired which also stresses us out. The level of cortisol increases, which increases the feeling of hunger and causes the fatty tissue to be deposited.
So as you can see there are a few reasons related to the ability of falling asleep or poor quality of sleep. The main thing is to approach it accordingly and start to improve this state if we want to enjoy a beautiful figure, appropriate weight and impeccable health. Before sleep, ventilate the bedroom, remember about the regular change of bedding, and try to calm down, forget about the worries of everyday life. It is very important that instead of watching TV or browsing your phone, read a book limiting the blue light. And if it does not help, it’s necessary to visit a doctor, carry out the necessary tests and, if needed, start appropriate drug therapy.
