SUGAR REPLACEMENTS

Everything everywhere is full of sugar. If not in a pure form, which we add to tea, cakes and other dishes, then we have it in processed products. We find it in drinks, we find it in yoghurts, cheese and in fact in everything that we take in our hands. Unfortunately, sugar is not good for our health and to a great extent it lowers our immune system.

Sugar leads to weight gain and even to obesity. It slows metabolism. It spoils tooth enamel. And although in the first phase it adds energy, it quickly makes our body lazy and makes us want to do nothing, have no desire, and our only pleasure is a healthy rest on the couch in front of the TV and it’s best enjoyed with another chocolate bar sipped with sweetened with three teaspoons tea.

Fortunately, there are substitutes on the market, thanks to which white sugar can be completely eliminated from our diet. For many it’s not easy, for others it’s not a problem. Sugar goes live, and all kinds of substitutes, even for someone with a sweet tooth, turn out to be a really good solution.

White sugar substitutes:

  • Honey

Honey is the best substitute you can use, because in addition to being extremely sweet, it also provides the body with many valuable ingredients. However, it must be realized that it’s more caloric than the sugar itself, but due to its composition, it does not disturb the mineral balance, it has a number of enzymes and minerals. In honey there are, among others: B vitamins, organic acids, magnesium, potassium, iron, calcium, as well as iodine, phosphorus, fluorine and cobalt. It’s worth using it instead of sugar, but at the same time keeping healthy restraint.

  • Agave syrup

Although less well-known than honey, it’s one of the sweetening products that are a great substitute for white sugar. It’s sweet like honey, but it does not contain so many calories. Instead of glucose there is fructose in it, which is absorbed by the body for longer than glucose alone. Agave syrup has the effect of a probiotic, improving bacterial flora, but also reduces bad cholesterol and improves the functioning of the digestive tract.

  • Brown sugar

Although it’s still sugar, it’s certainly better than its white version. It’s a natural product, made of birch. It does not destroy the body like white sugar, it’s 40% less caloric, and it speeds up the healing of the body, influences the delay of aging, and also works very much on the immune system.

  • Stevia

Stevia is very sweet, definitely more than white sugar, and its calorific value is minimal. This product is obtained from stevia leaves, in which there are numerous nutrients, including B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium, calcium, iron, as well as zinc, selenium, chromium and fats and proteins.

As you can see there are many substitutes and it’s certainly worth eliminating white sugar completely from the diet. It can be replaced in drinks as well as in cakes with various kinds of other products that will also provide us with the appropriate sweetness, but they will not be as caloric and unhealthy for our body.
