WHY AM I STILL HUNGRY?

If we want energy, we must eat. We get it through food. There is a reason why you are what you eat. Depending on what lands on our plate, this energy is higher or lower. If we do something for several hours and do not provide food to our body, it begins to feel hungry. This is the most understandable situation. But what if we feel this hunger constantly, all the time? What is the reason that, although we eat, we still feel hungry?

***

Is it normal to feel constant hunger? No! You can feel hunger a few hours after a meal, but if you provide your body with regular food, and you feel this hunger constantly, something is wrong with your body and you should look for the reason for this a little deeper.

So what can cause hunger? What are the most common reasons why we’re constantly hungry?

Diabetes

Our body turns the food we eat into fuel called glucose. If we have diabetes, this glucose is not able to reach our cells, so the body gives a signal that this fuel is not in the cells and asks for it in the form of hunger, so that we can eat something further. And what other symptoms can indicate diabetes? Certainly thirst for constant drinking, frequent urination, blurry image, bruising, tingling of hands or feet, or constant chronic fatigue.

Low blood sugar

If the body’s sugar level drops to a very low level, so-called hypoglycemia occurs. This condition can further lead to hepatitis, kidney problems, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, or problems with the adrenal gland or pituitary gland. With hypoglycemia, a state similar to being under the influence of alcohol often appears. Walking problems, misspelled words, anxiety, body tremors, pale skin, faster heartbeat.

No sleep

Very often the main culprit in a given state of affairs is not enough sleep. If the body does not get it in the quantities it should, the work of hormones can cause such and not other conditions in our body, including lack of control over the feeling of hunger. If we are sleepy, we are not able to feel full. And in addition to the constant feeling of hunger, lack of sleep also causes problems with alertness, mood changes, irritability, fatigue, and even weight gain.

Improper diet

A bad diet, even if we think that we eat regularly and relatively appropriately, can cause hunger. Not all food products are able to fill us in the same way. Certainly those that limit hunger have a high protein content. it’s, for example, lean meat, they are fish, they are dairy products, or foods rich in fiber. We should remember about fruits, vegetables, whole grains as well as beans.

What’s more, we should not forget about healthy fats, which are extremely important, including nuts, fish and, for example, sunflower oil. If our diet primarily includes bread, fast food, processed food, unhealthy carbohydrates and a lot of fat (which has little to do with this healthy one), they are just empty calories. We eat them and in a moment we have a desire for another, and the next one. So let’s pay attention to what we eat and how we eat. Let’s celebrate every meal, try to eat slowly, calmly, without watching TV or doing ten other activities at the time.

Every meal should be a feast for us.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy very often causes this condition in which various jumps of appetite appear. We just had a meal, and we want to start another one. it’s true that you can afford a little more during pregnancy, but it does not change the fact that you do not have to pack double amounts of food in yourself, which is very often referred to that you can, that it should be, that it’s good for the baby. Not true. A healthy, balanced diet is sufficient.

Thyroid

In many cases, the thyroid gland can play tricks. It’s what produces hormones that control the speed of almost every organ. Too heavy thyroid work can cause it to be overactive, and then it goes hand in hand with constant hunger, fast pulse, nervousness, weak muscles, as well as excessive sweating and constant drinking.

Dehydration

Very often, poor hydration makes us think we are thirsty. If we supply the body with too little water, it begins to dehydrate. If this happens, we may feel hungry even though we are only thirsty. Added to this are dizziness, fatigue and darker urine.

Physical activity

If we exercise, our body burns calories, metabolism speeds up. If the effort is intense and long, then the energy reserves from food could be used and the body simply hunger in the world.

Summary

So, as you can see, the feeling of constant hunger can have a really diverse backgrounds. If we are in this group, then we should undoubtedly first find the reason for a given state of affairs, and not think that this is normal, because it’s not! If we are constantly hungry, even though we eat regularly – there is a problem and it should be found.
